Rob Melvin is the Managing Attorney of Melvin Law Group PLLC. Since 2021, his practice has focused exclusively on immigration, visa, and citizenship law.
Before focusing his practice on immigration law, Rob spent 12 years as a litigator and 12 additional years serving as a diplomat and Vice Consul with the U.S. Department of State. His diplomatic service included assignments at U.S. Embassies in the Dominican Republic, Panama, Pakistan, and Lesotho.
Rob received the Meritorious Honor Award and the Distinguished Service Award from the U.S. Department of State. He has owned and operated several law firms in Texas. Rob made law review at the University of Houston Law Center before transferring to Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he graduated. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he received the Army Achievement Medal for Distinguished Service. He is licensed to practice in Texas state courts, U.S. federal courts, and before the Board of Immigration Appeals.
His practice includes family-based, employment-based, and investment-based immigration, B1/B2 visitor visas, visa denials, waivers and inadmissibility issues, humanitarian immigration, removal defense, problematic immigration and visa matters, consular processing, and naturalization and citizenship.
